I haven't used the reel yet, but it appears to be made like a Swiss watch. My only complaint is that although the manual emphasizes the importance of maintenance, it give absolutely no information about how to do so. I visited the Shimano website and they don't even have a reel schematic available for download. YouTube has videos about this particular reel, but they basically consist of advertising. So, it looks like Shimano has succeeded in producing an excellent reel and plenty of advertising, but have failed in the details, i.e., documentation. What a shame.
